Slaughter Approach Final Home Game of 2013 Fighting for Playoff Spot

On a week where there was no game to be played, the Chicago Slaughter moved back into a tie for second place. While the Slaughter rested on a bye week the Sioux Falls Storm and the Cedar Rapids Titans, both tied in first place ahead of the Slaughter by a half game; duked it out in Sioux Falls on Saturday night. The Storm (8-4) bested the Titans 30-24 to extend their home streak to 31 consecutive wins. What does all of this mean for the Chicago Slaughter? With two games remaining on the schedule, both against the Green Bay Blizzard who have recently been eliminated from the IFL playoff picture, the Slaughter now find themselves in a tie with the Titans (7-5), who hold the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Slaughter. The Slaughter are now in a must win situation to better their chances at clinching a playoff spot. They will play their final home game of the regular season this Friday night, May 31st at the Sears Centre Arena. Kickoff is at 7:30pm and it’s Fan Appreciation Night so expect random giveaways and fun for the whole family.
