Jackson Neuman

My goal in sports broadcasting is a simple one. I want to focus on what matters as it pertains to sports. I love to look at the numbers. My previous career was in corn options trading in the pit at the Chicago Board of Trade from 1989-2007. From 2007-2015 I have been consulting algorithm trading on commodity correlations. So that should explain why I gravitate to analytics.

When it comes to sports, I have always been a fanatic. I grew up playing baseball, hockey, soccer, basketball, football and golf competitively. In college, I played baseball at Creighton University for former Cubs GM Jim Hendry. It was as close to big time sports as I would get. I also fished professional walleye tournaments for Team Cabelas from 2000-2002. I was fortunate to film a number of TV shows and do some radio shows for them. This kind of gave me a peak at broadcasting. I currently still play baseball, hockey, and golf competitively. As a fan I have been passionate about my teams since a very young age. The combination of this passion and my business career led me to analytics as they pertain to playoff possibilities, player evaluation, and even into bracketology.

My dream is to have a show that focuses on value. I'm interested in how teams and players truly stack up against each other. I don't believe in momentum, "clutch play", or the eye test. At least not to the degree that it is discussed in todays landscape.
