Call Me Crazy With This Wild Card Prediction

It's been a long time since I have gotten the chance to sit down and really examine the NASCAR's most crucial stops.  The last month has been interesting. Not just for me but also for the handful of drivers trying to make The Chase for The Sprint Cup.

Wild Card Standings
  1. Kasey Kahne             2 Wins   11th in points
  2. Kyle Busch                1 Win    13th in points
  3. Jeff Gordon                1 Win    14th in points
  4. Ryan Newman           1 Win    15th in points
  5. Marcos Ambrose        1 Win    16th in points
  6. Joey Lagano               1 Win    18th in points
  7. Carl Edwards              0 Wins  12th in points
Who Makes It In
Kasey Kahne is in the catbird seat at the moment with two victories and his 11th place standings and Atlanta and Richmond have always been good tracks for him so I don't see him loosing it. The next driver gets kind of tricky. We all know Carl Edwards hasn't been running like the driver that finished 2nd in points last year but this team is close, real close, 18 points back of tenth place, Tony Stewart, close.  That's right, Smoke has set himself up with three wins earlier in the year and now that it appears his 2012 season is going up in smoke, the three wins have already made Tony Stewart a lock to win the wild card after he falls out of the Top 10.

With Atlanta coming up this weekend, the time is now for Carl Edwards and the number 99 team to pounce and get the third Roush/Fenway Racing team into the Top 10 and into the NASCAR's Playoffs.
