Charlotte Recap

After signing a contract over two years ago and having to wait a year and a half to drive for Hendrick Motorsports, Kasey Kahne finally wins a race for his Mr. Hendrick. He held off a hard-charging Denny Hamlin en route to his 13th career victory.

What It Means
It was the 300th start in Kahne's Sprint Cup Series career and he made the most of it. Starting 7th, Kasey's number 5 Quaker State Chevy came alive when the sun set over Charlotte Motor Speedway. Kahne now has six straight top 10 finishes after a horrible start to the season.

Smoke Fest
On lap 264, Tony Stewart came down pit road but before he could enter his pit stall, he got spun out by Brad Keselowski, who didn't see Stewart. The driver they call Smoke then did a burnout on pit road and slid into his stall. While the the move looked cool, it was really irresponsible of the 2011 Sprint Cup Champion, especially two weeks after his employees were involved in a similar situation when Kurt Busch did a burnout through Ryan Newman's pit stall. Tony finished 25th, three laps down.

It's The Pits
While pit crews should be in mid season form at this time of the year, they looked lost at times. There were countless mistakes on pit road from teams like: Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jimmie Johnson, Jamie McMurray, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Brad Keselowski.

TheNASCARTER's Take
That was fast. This year's Coca-Cola 600 took 3 Hrs, 51 Mins, the fastest 600 to date. But there is one thing everybody has noticed: where are the wrecks? We had five debris cautions in 600 miles. I'm not asking for a wreck-fest but gimme some more excitement.

Up Next
The boys will take a trip to the Monster Mile this weekend, when Dover International Speedway hosts the FedEx 400 benefitting Autism Speaks.
