Quaker State 400 Preview

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series invades Kentucky Speedway for the second straight year with hopes of outlasting the heat and the bumps on the track. While temps are expected to get to the 100 mark on Saturday, the Sprint Cup stars plan to make the night even hotter in the Bluegrass State.

The Race and The Place
This weekends race is the second annual Quaker State 400, which takes place at Kentucky Speedway. Kyle Busch spanked the field to win the inaugural race last year.

Drivers I'm Watching
  • Kyle Busch  He has won the only other race here and he starts second tonight, if the engine woes are fixed then I look for Kyle to make some noise.
  • Clint Bowyer  Last weeks winner has brought a good car to Kentucky this weekend and starts sixth.
  • Martin Truex Jr.  After watching first year MWR driver Clint Bowyer win last weekend, I think Martin is gonna be hungrier than ever to win a race.
  • Matt Kenseth  He shocked the NASCAR world this week when he announced he was leaving his 14 year employer, Jack Roush. I look forward to see how the announcement affects his team the rest of the way.
  • Brad Keselowski & Juan Pablo Montoya  These guys got into each other in the first practice which forced Brad to a backup car and then they were at it again in happy hour. I don't wanna know what might happen tomorrow night when the laps mean something.
My Pick
  • Kevin Harvick  I see it happening this weekend, he has been fast all weekend and  starts fourth. Budweiser for everybody tonight night.
Why TheNASCARTER Likes Kentucky
From a fans point of view, last year was kind of rough. Although the race was a complete sellout, their were several fans that couldn't park and missed the race. While Bruton Smith has added 20,000 more parking spots, it will be interesting to see if it works. Other than that the race last year was pretty good and after watching the feeders series race already this weekend, I think tonight will be a fantastic race.
