Sylvania 300 Recap

Denny Hamlin acting like The Bambino after the race in calling his shot. I think it made him look stupid.

Well, that was easy!! Denny Hamlin came from the 32nd starting spot and won Sunday afternoons race  in dominating fashion to score his Sprint Cup Series leading, fifth win of the season. Jimmie Johnson, who took over the points lead, finished second but didn't even have a chance. The win comes a week after Hamlin ran out of gas on the final lap in Chicago and guaranteed a victory on his twitter. Denny who said he didn't make a guarantee sure did act like it afterwards when he imitated Babe Ruth by calling his shot, like Ruth did in game three of  1932 World Series against the Chicago Cubs.

Underachieving in The Chase: Last week, we all thought Jeff Gordon was done after blowing a tire and finishing 35th but it looks like the clean shaven Gordon could be turning the page after a third place finish on Sunday. That's not the case for his teammate, Dale Earnhardt Jr. who came into this years Chase after having one of his better regular seasons has fizzled off and had probably his worst race of 2012. After fighting with handling issues all day, NASCAR's Most Popular Driver was able to get a 13th place finish but was disappointed afterwards, "We definitely had a frustrating week this past race. We salvaged a decent finish considering how frustrating it was." said Earnhardt.

Chasers Rule: Last weeks race had Chase drivers finish in the top seven spots, which once again proves the the best drivers are in The Chase for The Sprint Cup. Clint Bowyer, Kasey Kahne, Brad Keselowski, and Tony Stewart rounded out the top seven and all moved within 15 points of points leader, Jimmie Johnson.

Side Note: I'm 2 - 0 with my winner picks the last two weeks. If you need any fantasy help, message me.
